THE PHILOSOPHY

I have always wanted to give my clients what they want. I work with the very latest technologies, those which deliver visible results.

I listen to my clients, their views about their hair, skin, face and body.

I look at your lifestyle, assess your physical condition, stress levels and medical history. Only then do I offer you a course of treatments which have been individually designed to achieve the results you want.

In order to be able to cover the varied demands of my clients, I have assembled a team of respected and well-known practitioners, experts in their own field, to complement the treatments we offer. My clients are important to me and my team and we are dedicated to ensuring your satisfaction.

Shenaz continues to research and test new treatments to determine which innovations will work within the parameters of The Face and Body Clinic and its unique philosophy.

Review Defy Time

How does Defy Time reduce wrinkles?

According to clinical trials signs of wrinkles can be reduced by 52% and an 80% increase in the smoothness of skin after 28 days of use.

The active ingredient in Defy Time is Syn-ake, commonly known as snake venon cream. Synake is an anti wrinkle peptide, which mimics the paralysing effect of a peptide found in the venom of the Brazilian Templar Viper. As the face muscles are paralysed this reduces skin creases which long term cause wrinkles.

This has a similar effect to Botox. However unlike Botox, Defy Time allows movement in the face.

Using Defy Time is an effective alternative to those who do not wish to have Botox injections.

A View From Harley Street

16-01-2012
harley street protects

Press Release issued on January 16th 2012:

Shenaz of 57 Harley Street is not happy about the protests taking place in her street - on her doorstep - for something she hasn’t done.

“We’re advocates of non-invasive surgery”, she says, “and are certainly not interested in supporting any organisation who is not willing to take responsibility for their own procedures,” she says.

Asked if the Health Clinics at the centre of the Breast Implant row have a responsibility to put right the wrongs caused by faulty implants, she is certain of her answer: “Yes, they do”.

She says, “If any clinic knew that the implants they were using were of questionable quality, then they have a responsibility to their patients to make good any damage caused by them.”

Shenaz is quick to remind us however, that nowadays, there are many cosmetic procedures available to men and women that do not require invasive surgery at all.

Anti-aging, fat-loss and cellulite removal should not require invasive treatment unless the situation is critical” she says.

This means that procedures such as liposuction and cellulite removal that are undertaken using invasive techniques should be considered carefully.

“Using Ultrasound for example, we are able to reduce fat without the need for liposuction or the need for a tummy tuck”.

“Even Anti-ageing techniques have come a long way in recent years so that it is now possible to achieve the effects of a face-lift without going under a surgeons knife!”

snake venon cream

Congratulations to Teresa Maria Barnard.

Teresa is the lucky winner of our December competition to win a Jar of Defy Time.

Defy Time is an effective anti-aging cream which contains Syn-ake (snake venon cream), the anti wrinkle peptide, mimics the paralysing effect of a peptide found in the venom of the Brazilian Templar Viper. This blocks neuromuscular contraction thus reducing wrinkles and fine lines.

Skin Care and Anti-Ageing Tips

15-11-2011
anti ageing skin care

Establish simple daily routines to prevent premature ageing to your skin. Keep your skin looking as fresh, clear and wrinkle free for as long as possible.

Here are our top tips to prevent premature ageing.

Always remember to take your make up off before going to sleep, otherwise your skin's pores get blocked and this in turn can cause spots. A good cleanser to clean your pores is essential for good skin. Exfoliation, once a week, is important to keep skin in good condition. Use a good quality exfoliator without abrasive granules to be gentle to your skin.

A good quality moisturiser is an essential daily product to apply to your skin. Your day cream should preferably contain zinc oxide and be at least SPF 30 for sun protection. You must wear sun protection cream everyday, even on a cloudy day, to prevent sun damage to your skin. Night cream with Vitamin E will rejuventate your skin whilst you sleep.

Establish a regular 8 - 9 hrs of sleep daily. If you do not have enough sleep, the oxygen levels in your body will reduce which results in slower regeneration of new skin cells. This in turn causes premature ageing.

Vitamin C, E, A, K and B are all good for skin. Also supplements of Vitamin C and Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids. You may also find primrose oil or borage oil to be beneficial to your skin.

Keep your body hydrated. Two litres of fluid should be consumed daily. A quarter of your daily intake can come from fluid in our foods, namely fruit and vegetables. Remember the 5 a day servings of fruit and vegetables as recommended by our physicians. Eating plenty of fruit and vegetables not only helps to keep us hydrated but also helps prevent many other health issues.

Facial exercises are a good way of keeping your facial muscles tight. Exercise your forehead, eyes, cheeks and neck for 10 minutes a day to achieve firmer facial muscles. This will make you skin feel naturally elastic. A natural face lift in effect to keep you looking younger for longer.

Lastly remember prevention is better than cure so start your healthy daily routine today.

A dermatologist can treat your skin for skin pigmentation, acne, scarring, hyper-pigmentation and sun-damage - should you need help with your skin care.

Hair Removal Techniques for Men and Women

1-11-2011
permanent hair removal

Individuals who are experiencing excessive hair growth or who are finding other hair removal techniques such as shaving, plucking and depilatory cream too time consuming, are turning to more permanent hair removal options.

The most established permanent hair removal techniques are Electrolysis, IPL and Laser Hair Removal techniques. However, at the Face and Body clinic we prefer to use Erayser hair removal and Epil-Pro hair removal techniques.

Erayser supercedes both laser and IPL and is suitable for face, underarms, bikini line, arms, legs, chest, shoulders, neck and back. Epil-pro is like electrolysis, but without needles. Erayser is perfect for facial hair as no burning, scabbing, pigmentation or pitting will occur.

Old Fashioned Techniques - not used by Shenaz...

Electrolysis is a permanent hair reduction technique. This treatment involves the insertion of a needle into the follicle, sending an electric current through the hair, to kill the hair root. This treatment is only suitable for small areas like the upper lip. This process can be painful and some hair re-growth can happen, but in the majority of cases the hair removal is permanent.

IPL (intense pulse light) uses specific wave lengths of light for absorption by the melanin pigmentation in hair. This treatment is suitable for large areas and all skin types. The hair may not re-grow for up to 6 months.

Laser hair removal is a relatively pain free experience and can treat large areas in one session. Hair re-growth may not happen for up to 6 months.

Overall...

Individuals who may find permanent hair removal techniques useful are women who have polycystic ovarian syndrome, a hormonal in-balance. This causes dark, course hair growth on the face, around the upper lip and chin, as well as one the chest, stomach and back. Removing thick dark hairs is difficult to deal with through shaving.

Many men who are bald will shave their head completely to have an even look, rather than have a bald spot. These men may turn to permanent hair removal methods rather than having to constantly shave. Men may also be tired of shaving their beard, likewise many men prefer a clean shaven look on a daily basis find permanent hair removal method more useful.

Shaving on a daily basis for men is not only time consuming but can cause problems such as scarring and ingrown hairs. Laser hair removal can give you instant relief from this. It maybe expensive in the short term but think of all the time it will save you in the long term.

Erayser and EpilPro hair removal has come a long way, and they offer less side effects than ever before, including individuals with severely sensitive skin. Treatment costs will vary according to the size of area treated.
